Announcement has just been made of the marriage of Miss Eva Ann Rowe of this city, to Pfc. Donald Dale Little of near Perry. The wedding took place at 8:30 p.m., December 22nd at Wharton, Texas, near where the groom is in training.
The double ring ceremony was performed at the parsonage of Rev. Jester White, Methodist minister at Wharton. They were attended by Pfc. and Mrs. Leslie Gully. The bride is a most attractive young lady, and was attired in green wool jersey, with brown accessories and wore a corsage of white gardenia corsage.
Mrs. Little is the older daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lew Rowe of this city. She graduated from Pittsfield high school in 1942 and for the past year has been employed as assistant secretary in the draft board office. She returned to Pittsfield after the wedding and spent Christmas here with her parents, then returned to Texas.
The groom is the son of A. E. Little of near Perry. He graduated from Perry high school in 1942 and volunteered for induction in the army on March 20, 1943. He was first sent to Fort Custer, Mich., and was later sent to Camp Swift near Austin, Texas. He expects to be transferred back to Fort Custer, Mich., in about two weeks. "Durham – Miss Hattie Alberta Turner, well-known member of the Durham Union High school faculty, became the bride of Henry L. Morgue of Durham at a 5 o'clock ceremony, Tuesday, July 15, at the San Andreas community church, with Rev. Joseph Kirk performing the ring ceremony in the presence of 30relatives and close friends. The altar was impressively decorated with two baskets of white gladioli in green and white ivy and white tapers in candelabra lighted the chancel.
"Miss Frances Gielow, music teacher in the Durham Union High school sang 'Because' and 'I Love You Truly,' accompanied by the church organist. The bride was given away by her father, Dr. H.C. Turner. For her wedding she wore a powder blue sheer fashioned with a jacket, white hat and other accessories. Her corsage was also white gardenias.
"A beautifully appointed wedding table awaited the bridal couple and their guests at the Clover club. A three-tiered wedding cake decorated in silver and white centered the linen covered table on which water lily nut cups on large green leaves were the favors at each plate. After receiving many congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Morgue left on a week's motor trip and will return to Durham to make their home at the Morgue orchard west of town.
"Present at the nuptial service and supper were the bride's parents, Dr. and Mrs. H.C. Turner, a brother, Gerald Turner and brother and wife Mr. and Mrs. William Turner of San Andreas; two brothers-in-law and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Bion Burchell of Berkeley, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Beale of San Mateo; uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Dwyber and daughter, Miss Helen of Stockton; and an uncle, J.A. Tower of Felix.
"The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Ella Morgue, and his sister, Mrs. Grace Brown of Durham, his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Morgue and their daughter, Miss Esther of Oakland. Also Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Greene and three children of Durham, and Miss Frances Gielow of Alameda.
