Douglas Edward AndersonMr. Douglas Anderson, of Miramichi Senior Citizens Home Veterans’ wing, and formerly of Creaghan Street, Miramichi, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 93.Born in Bartibog, he was the son of the late Albert and Margaret (Delaney) Anderson. He was retired from Anderson’s Mill.He is survived by three daughters: Eva Bagge (Harry), of Sweden; Marie McFarlane, of St. Andrews, NB; Betty Ann Anderson, of Miramichi; six sons: Donald (Irene), of Ontario; Harvey (Shirley), of Dawson Creek, BC; Allison (Pat), of New York, USA; Paul (Alice), of Red Deer, Alberta; Doug (Sharon), of St. Catharine’s, ON; Kenneth (Mary Jane), of Saint John, NB; two sisters, Nora Mahoney, of Bartibog; Florence Bonn, of Nova Scotia.He was predeceased by his parents; his wife; brothers: Maffatt, Weldon, Ernest, Elmer, Albert Jr.; and sisters: Myrtle Bonn and Gertrude Gunn.Mr. Douglas E. Anderson rested at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy., Miramichi, with visitation on Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, April 23, 2003, from St. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, with Father Leon Creamer officiating. Organist and soloist was Jacqueline Allain.Active pallbearers were: Bernie Savage, Benny Kennah, Gary Mahoney, Ralph Glidden, Paul Matheson, and Hans Anderson.Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Arrangements were in care of Davidson’s Funeral Home (622-7464) -- your family-owned, family-operated funeral home.

Douglas married Mary Hazel Russell, daughter of William Russell and Elizabeth Campbell, on 10 Dec 1928 in Bartibog, Northumberland, New Brunswick, Canada.¹
