Joseph Mulford to Stephen Ross

This Indenture made this twenty day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten. Between Joseph Mulford and Elizabeth his wife of the Township of Columbia, County of Hamilton, and State of Ohio of the first, and Stephen Ross of the County and State aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to him in hand well and truly paid at or before the ensealing of these presents by the said Stephen Ross, the receipt whereof the said party of the first part doth hereby acknowledge and therefore and therefrom doth clearly acquaint, exonerate, and discharge the said party of the second part his executors and administrators hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents the said party of the first part doth grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. All that certain tract of land situate lying and being in Section number thirty two in the fourth Township and second fractional Range of Townships in the Miami Purchase. Beginning at Joseph Conklins South East corner, thence running East one hundred and ten poles, and ninety six links, thence North seventy one poles, thence West one hundred and nine poles and ten links, thence North thirty one poles, thence West one pole eighty six links, thence South one hundred and two poles to the beginning corner, containing fifty acres of land.Together with all and singular the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging. To have and to hold the said described tract of land hereby bargained and sold to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of the said Stephen Ross and his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Joseph Mulford doth covenant and agree to and with the said Stephen Ross, and with his heirs and assigns that he is the true and lawful owner of the premises hereby granted and hath good right full power and lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner and form aforesaid. And farther that he the said Joseph Mulford and his heirs Executors, and administrators will warrant and defend the aforesaid premises with their appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof unto the said Stephen Ross, and to his heirs and assigns against all lawful claims and demands whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Joseph Mulford and Elizabeth his wife who relinqishes her right of dower in the premises hath hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

Before me James Lyon one of the Justices of the Peace iin and for said County personally came Joseph Mulford the within grantor, and Elizabeth his wife, who being separately examined as the law directs, and acknowledged the within instrument to be their hands and seals voluntary acts and deed for the use and purpose therin contained. Done and acknowledged this 23rd day of June 1810 as witness my hand and seal.
