MORTGAGE--JOSEPH &POLLY CROSLEY to BENJAMIN MULFORD

(Land in Columbia Township, Section 32, Township 4, Fractional Range 2)

Know all men by these presents that I Joseph Crosley of the County of Hamilton and State of Ohio in consideration of four hundred and fifty dollars lawful money paid to me by Benjamin Mulford of the County of Warren and State of Ohio the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, do hereby give grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Benjamin Mulford his heirs and assigns forever a certain parcel of land being a pert of section number thirty two in the fourth township and second fractional Range of Townships in the Miami Purchase the lines are as follows. Beginning at the North West corner running thence on Stephen Conckling's line one hundred and two poles South, thence East one hundred and eighty nine poles, ten links, from thence North seventy poles thence West one hundred and nine poles, ten links thence North thirty one poles thence West eighty poles to the beginning corner.

To have and to hold the said granted and bargained premises with the privileges and appurtenances thereof to the said Benjamin Mulford his heirs and assigns to his and their use and behoof forever. And I the said Joseph Crosley for myself my heirs and executors and administrators do covenant with the said Benjamin Mulford his heirs & assigns that I am lawfully seized in fee of the premises, that they are free of all encumbrances, that I have good right, to sell and convey the same unto the said Benjamin Mulford to hold as aforesaid and that I will warrant & defend the same to the lawful claims and demands of all persons. Provided nevertheless, that if I the said Joseph Crosley, my heirs executors or administrators shall well and truly pay to the said Benjamin Mulford his heirs executors land administrators or assigns the full and just sum of three hundred and seventy dollars on or before the first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten for which the said Benjamin Mulford has my obligation this indent use of Mortgage shall be void otherwise shall remain in full force and virtue.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal together with my wife Polly who hereby relinquishes her right of dower to the same this eleventh day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six.

Personally appeared before me James Lyon one of the Justices assigned to keep the Peace in the Township of Cincinnati and County of Hamilton the within anmed Joseph Crosley and Polly his wife, who being seperately examined acknowledged the within Instrument to be their hands and seals acts and deed for the uses and purposed within mentioned. Done and acknowledged this 11th day of Jany 1806 as witnessed by my hand and seal.
