Marh 28, 1907, Bulletin-Journal, Thusday"The remains of John Hageman of Edgewood, were brought here for interment Sunday afternoon. Deceased died at his home on Friday, after a two month illness of cancer of the stomach. He was the son of John Hageman, eldest brother of A. Hageman of this place. He was born in Ohio about 55 years ago. His parents died when he was young and he was raised by his grandparents. When about 15 years of age he came to this city and learned the blacksmith trade with his uncle A. Hageman. He followed his trade through his life. About 25 years ago he went to Brandon to live. There his marriage with Clara Jackson occurred. About 13 years ago he returned to this city and lived here for 5 years. Eight years ago he went to Edgewood, where he had since resided. He leaves a wife, 3 daughters and 1 son. Another son drowned in the river at this place about 10 years ago. The funeral service was held in Edgewood, and the remains were taken charge of by the Knights of Pythias at this place. The Pythian burial service was given at the grave."
