Shobal Patton Mulford
In 1908 Theodore ("Teddy") Roosevelt was in the last year of his second term as our President. That year Shobal P. Mulford and George W. Dryer formed a partnership to practice law in the County of Los Angeles. Mr. Mulford, born in 1850, was from Ohio, where he had practiced law for five years before moving to Los Angeles in 1883 to continue his practice as a specialist in corporate and probate law. Mr. Dryer (born in 1881 in Placerville, in the heart of California's "gold country") grew up in Santa Ana. He graduated from Stanford Law School, and in 1904 was admitted to the California Bar.
