Irene Bennett Edwards

Irene Bennett Edwards, 66, of Midway, formerly of Pleasant Grove passed away Sunday, October 7, 2001. She was born July 29, 1935 in Alpine, Utah to Silas and Alberta Adams Bennett. She married Drew Edwards and together had twelve children. They were later divorced.
Irene grew up in Alpine and attended school there. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, constantly making things for children and grandchildren. She was an active member of the Eagles Lodge in Pleasant Grove and later served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the F.O.E. in Midway for three terms. She will be greatly missed by her family and her puppy Daisy.
She is survived by her loving companion of 13 years, Joe Wilson of Midway; thirteen children: Vee Edwards, Ronda Amacher, Parleen Autry, Lorna Stutz, Rachel Gordon, Philip Edwards, ZoeAnn Holton, Josh Edwards, Jacob Edwards, Rhoda McKnight, Joe Wilson Jr., Tom Wilson, and Dana Wilson; 48 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include her brother, Paul Bennett. Irene was preceded in death by her daughter Cindy and her sons: Bennett and Si, and her granddaughter, Amanda.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 11, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 S. 300 East, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary and on Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Alpine City Cemetery.
