Drew Edwards Obituary KAMAS--Occasionally in our lives, we come across someone who, for one reason or another, makes us fell special, someone who makes us feel important. Drew Edwards, our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother had the unique ability to amuse and touch everyone he encountered. From his family, neighbors, co-workers, and friends, he never ceased to bring smiles to our faces and made each of us feel as if we were the most important person alive. He always had a suggestion to give and was willing to help as he was able. He will be missed by many! Drew loved life in all its facets and took pleasure in serving others and pursuing his side career and hobbies. Throughout his life, Drew served faithfully in various callings, Boy Scouts, Sunday School/Gospel Doctrine Teacher, Ward Clerk, High Priest Group Leader of the LDS Church. Drew always gave 110 percent. Drew passed away on January 16, 1999 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed not only by his family but also by the community to which he gave so much. Drew was born on July 10, 1932 in Charleston, Wasatch County, Utah to Parley and Clara Edwards, when as a child they moved to Pleasant Grove, Utah. In his final years he settled in Kamas, Summit County, Utah. He married Irene Bennett and they had 10 children, adopted two more, and raised two foster Indian boys. They were divorced in 1983. He then married Marcy L. Pfeifer on July 26, 1984 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 2, 1992. Drew belonged to the United States Steel Workers of American Union Local #2701. He worked at Orem US Steel for over thirty years, retiring in 1986. He was also well known as the local painter/handyman. Survived by his spouse Marcy; children: Drew Vee (Ruanda) of West Jordan, Ronda (Allen) Amacher Vanderpool of Pleasant Grove; Parleen (James) Autry of Ogden; Lorna (Joseph) Stutz of Billings, MT; Rachel (Michael) Gordon of Provo; Philip (Sheila) of Lehi; ZoeAnn (Ray Todd) Holton of Kamas; Joshua (Sonja) of Pleasant Grove; Jacob (Jana) of Marion; his step-son, Michael (Darlene) Skoluda of Milwaukee, WI; his foster sons, Jefferson (Mary) Cody and Jason Altaha, both of Whiteriver, AZ; brothers: Ralph J. of Heber City; Lee Ray of Tyler, TX; sister, Juanita Thomas of Orem; 47 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, along with many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Van Pyper; half-brother, Burnell Joseph, Vivan J. and Oliver; his half-sister, Ruth; his daughter, Cindy Lou; his sons, Bennett Val, and Parley "Si"; his granddaughters: Amanda Autry, Trista Michelle Skoluda; great-granddaughter, Ashley Dominique Stewart Robinson (Charlotte Brady). Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 20, 1999 at 1 p.m. in the Kamas 1st Ward (100 W. Center). Friends and family may call on Tuesday, January 19, 1999 at the Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home in Heber City and at the church Wednesday 11:45-12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Charleston Cemetery, Charleston, Utah.
