Atchison Daily Globe Newspaper - 7 Jul 1947: Mr. and Mrs. Alex McCune and son, Keith, of Legionville, Texas and Mrs. William Smiddy of Houston were here last week and visited their father, O. M. Anderson and other relatives. Their daughter, Mary Elizabeth McCune was graduated from the Universtiy of Kansas a few days ago.
Numerous Nevada State Journal Newspaper articles (published in Reno, Nevada) during the 1960's state that Alice Smiddy was the president of the Rebekah Lodge of the Indpendent Order of Odd Fellows for Nevada and that she was from Caliente, Nevada at that time. She is also listed in several other OOF positions starting in 1960.
