bullet  General Notes:

A erroneous lineage of Mary Mulford has been perpetuated in the genealogical community which states that Sarah Spinning was her mother. This has conculsively been proven incorrect. Mary's father, Benjamin Mulford had two spouses, one named Anna and a second whose name has not yet been discovered. The second wife was NOT Sarah Spinning. Sarah was married to another Benjamin Mulford.
Stringtown Cemetery is in Section 18, Douglas Township, about 6 miles northwest of Winterset, Iowa. Mary's tombstone is the largest and says, Mary, wife of Hiram Anderson died Nov 16, 1859, aged 67 yr 2 m 26 dys. Then there is an old stone, about half the height that says Hiram B. Anderson, Died Dec 4, 1859, aged 27 yr 3 m & 27 ds. Next to it is a red granite, modest, stone that says Hiram B. Anderson 1830 - 1859 Martha L. Anderson 1825 - 1912
In another part of the cemetery, off by itself is a stone that says Wm Anderson, Died Feb 21, 1880, aged 61 yr 1m 14 d.
