He settled at Connecticut Farms, a little east of Scudder's Mills,"when young". The area is now part of Union. He first appeared in NJ probate records in 1757, but may have lived there well before then. Job Mulford of Elizabeth, will 3/10/1778, proved 3/16/1778. Wife Rebecah;eldest son John, exor.; son Abraham; third son David, not yet 21; fourth son Caleb; daughter Abigail; dau. Hannah, not yet 18. Wit. Jeremiah Mulford, William Sayre, Benjamin Scudder. Job Mulford inv. est. of Aaron Thompson of Elizabeth, 4/25/1757. Job Mulford inv. est. of Samuel Thompson of Elizabeth, 12/4/1763. Job Mulford wit. will of Daniel Sayre of Elizabeth 1/29/1763 and inv. his est. 6/6/1764. Job Mulford, with John Darbe and John Searing, witnessed the will of Sarah (Potter) Bonnel, wife of Benjamin Bonnel of Elizabeth,4/3/1760, proved1/19/1761. She was sister to Noadiah Potter (dec'd.), Daniel Potter, Joseph Potter, Samuel Potter (dec'd.) Elizabeth More (dec'd.), Mary Wade (dec'd.), and Hannah Crammer. The will left sizable cash bequests to all of these and / or to their surviving children. All her lands were to be sold to pay these bequests. To her husband Benjamin, still living [he died 5/17/1760, six weeks after Sarah made her will],she left one cow. (From Eric Weber).

Will of Job Mulford , 1778, Mar 10. Mulford, Job, of Borough of Elizabeth, Essex, New Jersey. Wife, Rebecca, goods to keep house with and some livestock. Eldest son, John, 1/2 of my lands and is to have the southeast end of homestead where I live, and 1/2 land joining to Elias Whitehead , Moses Thompson and Benjamin Thompson. Daughter, Abigal, a silver spoon, son David, 175 lbs. when 21, who is my 3rd son. Caleb, my 4th son the other half of my lands, dau. Hannah 50 lbs when 18. Sons, John, Abraham, David and Caleb all my land on Long Island at Easthampton. Exec. John Mulford .
