His birth date is estimated variously, ranging from 1650 to 1655. He had at least eight children: William, Rachel, Abiah, Ezekiel?-1721, Jeremiah 1687- or 1690-1766, Thomas 1689-1765, Lewis (1687/93-1719), David 1699-? and perhaps Mary.
Two sons, William and Ezekiel, left East Hampton for Cape May, NJ about 1699 to found a whaling settlement on Delaware Bay. They left many descendants in southern NJ.
Five of Thomas' grandsons settled later in Essex County, NJ. Some descendants remained there into the 20th century, while others spread westward into Pennsylvania, Ohio and other frontier states soon after the Revolution.
