Family lore stated that he was the first white child born in Reno Co., Kansas. However, he was born in Harvey Co., Kansas. Have not confirmed that he was the first there either. Vera lists the many places they lived while her father worked for Santa Fe R.R. "Nickerson, Kansas; (several times); San Bernadino,Ca; Abuquerque, New Mexico; Parsons, New Mexico; Shawnee, Oklahoma; Hutchison, Kansas; Osawatomie in Potawatomee Co. on Maria DeCygney River in OK? Kansas City, Kansas. Mention was made of being inTopeka or having family inTopeka. Harry was tempermental and never stayed anywhere long until he went to Clovis. He had no experience farming and lost the ranch during the Depression. He died not long thereafter.
