Family lore stated that he was the first white child born in Reno Co., Kansas. However, he was born in Harvey Co., Kansas. Have not confirmed that he was the first there either.

Harry was tempermental and never stayed anywhere long until he went to Clovis. He had no experience farming and lost the ranch during the Depression. He died not long thereafter.
