Hannah Parsons

  General Notes:

Hannah, d/o Seth Parsons, was baptized at East Hampton 9/8/1701 [Rev.Huntting's records] but she probably wasn't newborn at the time, since she was married 2/9/1716.
On 12/8/1720 "widow Hannah Mulford" m. at E. H. David Conklin, Jr. [Rev.Huntting's records].
One published Parsons descendancy reports that Hannah, the daughter of Seth Parsons, was the Hannah Parsons who, on 9/18/1729, married Noah Barnes at E. H. That Hannah's surname was given as Parsons, not Mulford, in the Rev.Nathaniel Huntting's record of her marriage, so she was not the same Hannah who had previously been Lewis Mulford's wife. There is, therefore, some question about which Hannah was really the daughter of Seth: the one who married Lewis Mulford and then David Conklin, or theone who later married Noah Barnes. If there is a definitive Parsons genealogy available that provides parents and birth dates for both of these Hannahs, it will be very helpful.
Parsons family data is furnished in Rattray's 1953 "East Hampton". "Mather's" Refugees..." contains significant errors in regard to this family. Hannah married Lewis (Lawsons) Mulford, son of Thomas D. Mulford and Mary Gardiner Conkling, on 25 Feb 1716 in East Hampton, Long Island, Suffolk, New York. (Lewis (Lawsons) Mulford was born in 1693 in East Hampton, Long Island, Suffolk, New York and died on 24 Feb 1719 at Sea, Off East Hampton, , New York.)
