Tom was in the garage supply and oil business, along with selling cars for many years. His store was located north of the old hotel in Mason City, Illinois. Tom became quite ill for several months before his death, Jan. 30, 1923 at the age of 56 years. During his illness, his sister, Rose, came to help take care of him. 2
